New Online Marketplace for New and Used Forklifts

The U.S. Forklift Network has just launched new online marketplace for new and used forklifts to make finding the right forklift a whole lot easier. Responding to complaints within the forklift industry about information overload, ForkliftClassifieds.com  was set up to weed out the dead-end leads from archaic equipment, companies that no longer exist and outdated advertisements for forklifts that had already been sold. Some of these ads were more than five years old.

Scrolling across the top of the home page are the Featured Listings to give the user an idea of the breadth of equipment that is currently available. Beneath each thumbprint is the name of the machine, the year of manufacture and the asking price. Hovering your mouse over a picture suspends the slideshow. Clicking on the name opens a page containing the city, state and contact telephone number of the seller. It also tells you the date the ad was listed and the amount of time left before the entry expires.

If you are not in the mood to window shop, there is a search box at the top where you can type in what you are looking for and even specify which state to search in. For example, typing “JCB” and clicking “New Jersey” on the drop-down box yields 11 JCBs for sale in New Jersey. If you are looking for a JCB in Kansas, today you would be out of luck but you get the picture.

Halfway down the page, you may choose to look at the most recently posted ads, the most popular or a random selection. If your kids are doing a term paper on types of forklifts, this is a great place for them to begin their research.

If you sell forklifts, you can open an account with just your name, email address and password of your choice. Another very useful feature is the ability to down load a forklift buyers guide, a single page that is simply packed with useful info. The only downside is to access the guide, you have to answer a bunch of questions and give out your company name and telephone number. This is uncomfortable if you don’t want to speak to a forklift certification salesman right away. The guide, however, is worth the embarrassment.
